MY FAMILY IS WHY

For Raycine Ector, public service begins with family. As a mother of four, she understands that decisions made at City Hall affect more than budgets and policies—they affect the neighborhoods where families live, the streets children travel, the opportunities available to young people, and the community they will inherit.

Her family’s story spans generations and cultures. Her father immigrated to the United States from Barbados and became a pastor in Los Angeles. Her children’s family roots extend throughout Barbados, Grenada, St. Martin, the Caribbean and South America.

Raycine’s children are building their own paths through education, military service, healthcare, athletics, student leadership and early childhood education. Their experiences have reinforced her interest in issues affecting young people and families.

For Raycine, running for Palmdale City Council District 5 is connected to the community where she is raising her family. She wants residents to have access to their local government and to understand how decisions affecting their neighborhoods are made.

FROM COMMUNITY ADVOCACY TO PUBLIC SERVICE

Long before running for City Council, Raycine Ector was working alongside Antelope Valley residents on civil rights, public safety, youth opportunity, housing, educational justice and government accountability.

Her service has included leadership with the Antelope Valley NAACP, criminal justice and legal redress advocacy, grassroots community organizing, service on the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Community Advisory Committee, and policy-development work addressing issues affecting local families.

Raycine has taken community concerns into public meetings, oversight proceedings and policy discussions—working to make government more transparent, responsive and accountable to the people it serves.

My commitment to public service began long before this campaign. Now, I’m ready to bring that experience and commitment directly to City Hall.

JOBS & LOCAL BUSINESSES
Attract quality employers, support entrepreneurs and small businesses, strengthen workforce development, and create more opportunities for residents to work and build businesses close to home.

YOUTH & FAMILIES
Expand opportunities for young people through recreation, sports, arts, education, mentorship, childcare resources, and affordable access to city programs and facilities.

TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Make city government easier to understand and access. Residents should be able to see where their money goes, how decisions are made, and whether city programs are producing measurable results.

District 5 deserves more than promises. It deserves representation that listens, shows up, follows through, and delivers results.
